Wild Child

Commune with Mother Nature, dig in the dirt, and explore the great outdoors. Supplemental activities will be provided to continue your nature studies at home for your student's portfolio. We are excited to guide our students to see the beauty all around them, and connect with their inner Wild Child.

Preschool ages 3-6
Elementary ages 5-10

Elementary Wild Child

Plant Power

Quarter One

Explore plants from all different angles - up, down, inside, outside - and it'll all be fun! Throughout this 6-week course, kids will answer the questions: What is a plant?, What are the parts of a plant?, and How do plants help us? This will be a nature exploration through art, discovery, eating, and playing with worms. This class will serve as a (non-prerequisite) primer for the gardening classes of second and third quarters.

How Does Your Garden Grow? Part 1

Quarter Two

Everyone will get their hands dirty as we plant and grow in the community garden. Relevant topics will be taught each week as we help our garden grow.

How Does Your Garden Grow? Part 2

Quarter Three

Everyone will get their hands dirty as we plant and grow in the community garden. Relevant topics will be taught each week as we help our garden grow. (Part 1 is not a prerequisite for Part 2.)

Nature Knights, Protecting the Planet

Quarter Four

Our final Wild Child course will focus on ways we can protect our environment. We will address how plants and animals are impacted by the human footprint, as well as ways kids can make a difference. This will be an opportunity to use hands-on exploration to discover problems our Mother Earth may be experiencing. We will incorporate fun activities, group games, projects, and experiments to help us respectfully observe and reflect on how important our planet is to human life to help our students understand why Protecting our Environment is so vital.
Although not a requirement to enroll in each, there may be some overlap between Community Skills and Protecting our Environment.

Forest School

Quarter Two

In nature, we can learn about things big and small. From the tiniest ant to the tallest tree, everything has a purpose. We'll wander, climb, poke, and explore our way through nature observing how Mother Earth changes each week. Students will play games, make nature art, and learn new skills.

Live and Grow

Quarter Three

In this six week nature class, preschoolers will explore and identify the characteristics of living things. Students will learn to recognize different types of animals and plants, and the basic needs of living things. Finally, our students will discover how ecosystems (and our planet) work together to meet those needs.
