About Ms. Brittney

"If a book is well written, I always find it too short."
--Jane Austen

Coming to you all the way from Miami, Florida, Brittney is a kick-butt homeschool mom of two strong-willed, independent girls. She has a passion for American Sign Language and has been teaching and interpreting for much of her life; she even co-founded her college ASL club. As the Homeschool Rocks! ASL instructor, she has already demonstrated that children can, in fact, be silenced with a wave of the hand - maybe we should offer a class for moms. With a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology, Brittney is a master (see what I just did there?) at the art of language.

Brittney and her husband, who is also an educator, homeschool because they want to give their daughters the best education possible and encourage their love of learning. Her time is filled with planning, playing, and re-cleaning things she just finished cleaning 5 minutes ago. This doesn’t leave much time for anything else, but when she has a moment, she loves to read, organize, play games, and make lists.

My mom is a good teacher because...

"...she makes everything for learning a game." - Olivia, age 7

"...plays games with me." - Annabeth, age 2
